FAQ'S

What type of oil and gas interests does PennMarc buy?

PennMarc buys both producing and non-producing oil and gas interests, as well as royalty and overriding royalty interests.  The interests can be in single wells or multiple wells and can be located throughout the Appalachian Basin.

Why should I consider selling my oil and gas rights?

Estate planning and/or settlement
Oil and gas interests vesting through an estate often create a very small interest held by numerous heirs.  The expense of transferring these small interests can create a burden on the estate.  Likewise, the conversion of these interests to cash not only maximizes present value but also simplifies estate management in the future.

Cash flow needs or replacement of depleted investments
Often times we find that we need extra cash for payment of bills or for other business or personal needs which would otherwise require borrowing money.  A sale of oil and gas rights can eliminate expensive credit card interest and prevent an increase in bank debt.

Complicated mineral management and elimination of paperwork
Ownership of oil and gas, especially a producing interest, involves monthly record keeping and accounting.  From division orders and royalty tracking to tax payments on property and income – the paperwork and management time can be a real burden.

Maximization of cash from a depleting asset

We all understand that oil and gas, when produced, is a depleting asset and that payments will decrease over time.  Conversion of this asset to cash in hand now allows you the flexibility to re-invest this money into other assets with fixed returns.

Market uncertainty

In today’s economy we find a general uncertainty in all market segments, including the oil and gas markets.  World events, environmental issues, an increasing emphasis on renewable energy sources, politics and the general instability of our economy all bear heavily on the price of our products in the marketplace.  The conversion of your oil and gas interests to cash can give you the flexibility to place your capital into more stable and comfortable investments.
